While it’s interesting to speculate on what this data scrubber might actually be used for, no matter how much we would like to see Microsoft be realistic about it’s browsers use, I highly doubt we will see them allow users to be anonymous. Microsoft hasn’t been seen as one to embrace such things considering they have been accused of putting tracking codes and beacons in just about every app and web page they have ever created. And many don’t use MS product because they fear what the program is reporting back to the main office. Creating a browser that would allow users to actually peruse the web in anonymity just goes against their style. They spend millions to track users habits and this is counter to that very idea. It would be great if Microsoft would offer such a thing, but the idea of masking IP addresses and other tricks to make you invisible just doesn’t like something they would do.
For those who want to try and cover their web usage tracks, and yes there are other reasons to do besides watching porn, you will still need to get 3rd party apps to help you, or browser addons such as Heatseek.
If Microsoft does add anything it will more likely be a feature set that simply deletes the cache and history on exit which IE and Firefox have both been able to do in some degree for a while now.
But the clock is ticking for the next beta refresh of IE so maybe we will get a glimpse of this new feature in all it’s porn loving glory.
In July, the tech giant filed applications for two trademarks – one for a product that scrubs browser histories, the other for a gizmo that disables the history and cache capabilities of a web browser.

PARIS — ICANN has approved a new measure that will open up the Internet to a virtually unlimited supply of top-level domains for a price.
ICANN voted unanimously to let individuals, businesses and organizations – just about anyone – submit an application to ICANN for their own top-level domain, better known as the suffix at the end of a web address, like “.com” or “.org.”
But this is the big news:
The measure also opens up the possibility that the much-maligned .XXX top-level domain may find new life through this commercial channel.
CYBERSPACE — After ending its beta-testing phase, international blog directory AllSexyBlog.com is now accepting submissions.
AllSexyBlog.com categorizes blogs by country of origin, including those from Spain, Germany, Italy and France, and allows bloggers to actively promote their blogs with banners, text links and descriptions.
